Call for Participation
The 32th Annual Conference of the Pennsylvania Association of Computer and Information Science Educators (PACISE)
At Edinboro University of Pennsylvania
March 31st and April 1st, 2017

Edinboro University of Pennsylvania will host the 32nd annual PACISE conference.  PACISE is a professional organization comprised of educators in institutions of higher education within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania who are involved in courses or programs that are considered to be a part of Computer and/or Information Science.

The conference seeks submissions of papers, presentations, workshops, posters and panels in all areas of computer and information science and computer and information science education.  Students have the opportunity to participate by submitting scholarly papers, posters or participating in the undergraduate programming or robotics competition.

All submissions must be in either MS Word or PDF format and must be no longer than 10 pages.  A document template is available to use as a guideline for submission.
When submitting your paper, please indicate whether you are submitting in the student-undergraduate, student-graduate or faculty category.  Only peer-reviewed accepted papers will be included in the proceedings.  All other submissions will appear in abstract form.
Those who wish to have their papers reviewed and published in the proceedings should submit a complete draft paper to the Paper Submission Chair via email with the subject “PACISE Paper Submission” by Feb 24th.

There will be two contest this year: a programming contest and a demonstration robotics competition.  Each contest consists of teams of two or three members from each institution.  Alternate team members can be listed in case substitutions are needed.  Team members and alternates must be undergraduate students enrolled at the University being represented.
A University may be represented by more than one team; however, second teams will be accepted only after each applying University’s first team has been accepted.  Teams will be accepted on a first-come first-serve basis as space permits.  Each team must complete the
registration form provided on the conference web page by March 17th.  Full details for each competition will be available in early February.  These two competitions will run simultaneously on Saturday morning, so students may only participate in one activity.

Posters describing student projects and research are encouraged.  Those interested in presenting posters should submit an abstract by March 17th, which will be included in the conference proceedings.
The conference accepts papers for presentation without review.  Abstracts for such papers should be submitted by Feb. 17th and will be included in the conference proceedings.

The registration fee is $60 for faculty and $20 for full-time students.  The deadline for regular registration is March 17th.  Late registration or on-site registration is $70 for faculty and $30 for students. All registration material will be available on the conference web site.
A separate registration form must be completed for the programming and robotics contests, which will be available on the conference web site in early February.  No late programming or robotics competition registrations will be accepted.
Conference registration by at least one author is required for publication in the proceedings.

Anyone interested in organizing a special session (panel discussion, birds-of-a–feather, etc.) should submit a proposal to the conference chair by March 17th.
The proposal should include a title of the special session, a single paragraph description of the session and a short biography of the organizer of the session
